Shoplifting at the local Fred Meyer store led to an arrest and a criminal citation for two last Tuesday.
The Soldotna Police Department responded to a shoplifting complaint on December 22 at 9:34 a.m. 53-year-old John P. Dahlquist and 42-year-old Anita C. Eskilida, both of Anchorage were identified by store personnel as the suspects. Dahlquist was found with $1667.97 worth of merchandise and Eskilida removed $309.00 worth of merchandise from the store without payment.
No specifics on what was taken was provided in the report from the Soldotna Police Department.
Dahlquist was arrested for 2nd degree theft and taken to Wildwood Pretrial. Eskilida was issued a criminal citation for 3rd degree theft and released.
