SoHi Baseball Overpowers Kenai: Stars Softball Falls To Homer

With full baseball and softball schedules for final 12 days of the regular season, the Soldotna Stars, Kenai Kardinals and Homer Mariners were all in action on Tuesday.

 

SoHi Baseball 13 – Kenai 2

The Soldotna Stars overpowered Kenai 13-2 at the Kenai Field on Tuesday behind a combined six-hitter by four SoHi pitchers.  Jeremy Kupferschmid threw two, scoreless, hitless innings to open the contest.  David Michael drove in four runs and Kupferschmid added two RBI; Trapper Thompson went 3 for 3 at the plate.  Kenai’s Harold Ochea took the loss on the mound going 4 1/3 innings; Ochea lead the offense with two runs scored for Kenai.

The Soldotna baseball team travels to Homer on Wednesday for Southcentral Conference baseball scheduled for a 6 p.m. varsity game.

 

Homer Softball 12 – SoHi 2

The Mariners, on the strength of an eight-run, second inning defeated SoHi 12-2 in five innings to record a Northern Lights Conference softball victory.

SoHi softball travels to Kodiak for games on Friday and Saturday.
