The 2019 Northern Lights Conference Volleyball Tournament opened with a single tournament game and a major revision to the schedule due to the Kodiak Bears inability to reach the mainland for Thursday’s first round games.

The Kodiak Bears, scheduled to open tournament play against Palmer in the 3 p.m. game on Thursday, were unable to travel from Kodiak as scheduled resulting in a major change to the tournament schedule.

SoHi 3 – Wasilla 2  Stars earn automatic berth to 4A state tournament.

The Soldotna Stars, tournament host and #3 seed, played #2 Wasilla in the scheduled first-round pairing with the winner earning an automatic berth to the ASAA 4A State Volleyball Championships.

The Soldotna Stars, down two games to one, rolled through game four 25-13 over Wasilla and carried the momentum through a game five 15-12 match victory for the Soldotna Stars.

In the decisive game five, SoHi and Wasilla were locked at 10-10.  SoHi took an 11-10 advantage on a side-out; recorded a pair of service points by Holleigh Jaime for a 13-11 lead and held on for the 15-12 victory.
