The Nikolaevsk Warriors, representing the Kenai Peninsula and the Borealis Conference, advances to the winner’s, semi-final at the 2019 ASAA Mix Six Volleyball State Championships with a bye and second-round victory on Thursday at the state tournament at Dimond High School.
The Warriors defeated Gustavus 2-1 to advance to a showdown with Tanalian on Friday at 11 a.m. The Warriors dropped game one 25-27, won games two and three 25-15 and 15-11.
The double-elimination state tournament continues play through Saturday afternoon with the championship game set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday. The Mix Six division features teams of three girls and three boys on the court and is played by the smaller classification schools throughout Alaska.
