Acting Seward Police Chief Alan Nickell announced the arrest of Jeremy Fitchner, 38, of Wasilla for possession of narcotics and weapons.
Thursday morning at approximately 6:15 a.m., Seward Police Department responded to a 911 report of a female who had overdosed in a hotel room in Seward. The patient was transported to Providence Seward Medical Center for treatment. The 911 call was placed by Fitchner, who was staying in the same hotel room.
Members of the Seward Police Department began a criminal investigation and obtained a search warrant for the hotel room. They subsequently seized 53.8 grams of methamphetamine, representing 538 doses, and 100.9 grams of heroin, representing 1,109 doses, with a combined street value total of over $60,000. Fitchner was arrested and remanded to the Seward Community Jail on two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 2nd Degree.
The female was treated and released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
