KPBSD Offering Get It & Go Meals To Remote Learning Students

Kenai Peninsula Borough School District students who receive their education via 100% Remote Learning, or parents of students in schools shifting to 100% Remote Learning during COVID-19 High Risk, can order Get It & Go Meals. This ensures students still have access to meals while learning at home.

The district asks that families sign-up online by Friday at noon each week.

Children must be currently enrolled in KPBSD to be eligible for Get-It & Go meals. Connections Homeschool students are not eligible for meals.

Pegge Erkeneff of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District has details: “Anybody who chooses 100% remote learning to start with, with their school, they will have the opportunity to pick-up meals on a once-a-week basis for their children. So, we’ll be providing those get-and-go meals for our 100% learning families connected with a school. If we move to high-risk, meals will also be provided like they were last spring when we had no students on-campus.”

Pickup is curbside at the school this fall. If the student is not present, the district asks that parents have the student ID to present at the pickup location. They will not be offering special dietary substitutions. When parents pick up meals, the district advises they follow safety guidelines via frequent hand-washing, wearing cloth face coverings, and keeping a distance of six feet or more between themselves and others.
