36-year-old Shawn C. Seaman of Anchorage was arrested in Nikiski Sunday by Soldotna Alaska State Troopers.
Troopers attempted a traffic stop on a white 2013 BMW 4-door sedan near milepost 18 of the Kenai Spur Highway for a speeding violation around 2:00 p.m. The vehicle failed to stop and continued at a high rate of speed. The chase ended on Wallers Avenue in Nikiski and the driver fled into the woods.
State Troopers established a perimeter and deployed K-9 Donna to search for Seaman by tracking the suspects footprints. After 2.5 hours, K-9 Donna apprehended the suspect on Lake Arness.
A records check indicated that Seaman is on Anchorage Adult Probation and didn’t have a travel permit to be on the Kenai Peninsula. Seaman was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on 1st degree charge of failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer, 4th degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and a probation violation.
