The Kenai Planning and Zoning Commission, on Wednesday, recommended changes to the zoning code for animal control, pertaining to dog kennels within the community. Planning and Zoning Director Marilyn Kebschull explained the recommended change.

Kenai’s Planning and Zoning Commission has been working on this recommendation for months through the worksession process. It included input from the Kenai Police Department and the city’s Animal Control officer. Kebschull said the commission has not heard any opposition to this idea. The recommendationis now are headed to the Kenai City Council.
