Wildfire Danger Raised for Majority of Kenai Peninsula

This week’s mostly warm dry conditions have left local fire officials relativity concerned. The wildfire danger rating has been elevated from moderate to high for the Kenai Peninsula from the Hope “Y” south to Anchor Point. We spoke to CES Safety Officer Brad Nelson

With open burning still allowed, it is recommended that you do any burning in the morning when the humidity is higher and the winds are lower.
