Super Summer Sizzler:
This course is a compact session that features a research-based reading program individualized to your student, grade level math, and language.
Session schedule:  August 4th – August 14th, Monday through Thursday, 10:00am – 12:00pm.
$200 + tax.

Private Pilot Ground School:
This course allows future pilots to gain all the knowledge necessary to take the private pilot written exam that is required for pilot certification.

Year Long Academic Kinder Prep & Kindergarten:
The Study is offering an Academic Kinder Prep and Kindergarten. We will include the Sonday’s system.  Let’s play and learn curriculum, Saxon math, technology, movement, and music.
2014/2015 School year schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-2:30PM.  $549 per month + tax.

SAT Prep:
This course equips students with SAT test taking strategies.  Students also practice to gain the confidence needed to tackle the test. If there are fewer than 2 students attending the course, it is The Study’s policy to the charge hourly rate rather than group.

Alaska Studies:
This course meets, or exceeds, the Alaska State Requirements and is aligned with Alaska State Standards.  Alaska Studies is an in-depth exploration of the rich geographic and cultural background of the State and its people from the early Native peoples to the Russian era through Statehood to the present.  This course will include examination of the physical geography, Native cultures, the political spectrum, and economic forces that have shaped contemporary Alaska.  Alaska’s role in the modern world and Pacific Rim will also be examined.

Free Gardening Class

July 22, 5:30 – 7 pm

Kenai Peninsula Food Bank

“Increase Your Harvest: Crop Rotation and Succession Planting” is the topic of a free gardening class Tuesday, July 22, 5:30 – 7 pm at the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank high tunnel and garden.  The instructors are Lark Ticen, certified Square Foot Gardening instructor, and Janice Chumley, IPM tech for the Cooperative Extension Service.  Space is limited, so registration is required.  To register, call 262-5824.  This class is offered through a partnership that includes UAF-Cooperative Extension, Kenai Soil & Water Conservation District, USDA-NRCS and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank for the benefit of growers across the Kenai.

Progress Days

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce Presents the 55th Annual Progress Days celebration!  The Progress Days Parade will travel down Marydale, starting at Soldotna High School, then down Binkley St. to Wilson.  Festival activities will be located at Gherke Field off K-Beach Road, next to the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.  Live music, vendor booths, and activities!!!  On Sunday the 27th the City of Soldotna will host a FREE community picnic starting at noon. Parade and vendor applications are available online now!

Birch Ridge Community Church

Dennis Agajanian will be in concert on Sunday, July 27 at 10 am at Birch Ridge Community Church. Dennis is said to be one of the best acoustic guitar players of his time. He is an alumni of the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest flat picker. His musical style varies from Country, Bluegrass, Classical, and Rock. All are welcome! Bring a camp chair or blanket as it will be an outside concert.



Progress Days 5K Fun Run
July 27th
Soldotna Regional Sports Complex
Progress Days has added a fun new event this year!! On Sunday, July 27th, there will be a FREE 5K Fun Run! Registration is at noon at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex. The route will include Centennial Park and the new trail. After the run, the City of Soldotna will be having their annual free hot dog lunch and there will be live entertainment and booths at Gherke Field. Join us for a day of fun!! No sign up necessary!
