The Kenai Watershed Forum is preparing for a busy summer, and the Forum’s Rhonda McCormick said they’ve started asking the community to help house their summer interns.
McCormick: “We do it so that they can get a better flair for the Kenai Peninsula, kinda’ see more about what’s out there. If we were to put them somewhere where they’re all by themselves, they wouldn’t meet as many people, they wouldn’t get to know as much about our community and the history of where we live. If they’re living with a family, they get to know so much more about our community and get a feel for why people live in Alaska and what we love so much about it.”
McCormick said the four interns will help with stream watch, summer camp, and research and restoration projects.
