The Anadromous Fish Habitat Protection Task Force held its first meeting on Thursday night.  The Chief-of-Staff to the Borough Mayor Paul Ostrander led the meeting.  He said this first meeting, like the next one, was an informational gathering event.

One discussion at the meeting surrounded the power of the board.  He said the board will only be able to provide recommendations to the Borough Assembly and the Borough Mayor.  We asked him how long he expects this task force to continue to meet.

He said, as long as the meeting remains focused, the group will be able to make good recommendations.  One major question he wants to see focused on first is the issue of lakes, and determine if its appropriate for the borough to regulate lakes.
