27-year-old Ashley Nelund had little trouble with the law before this year, but last Friday’s shooting at Walmart will bring about her fifth trip to court this year.
In March, she was charged with driving while license suspended, in May a DUI with weapons, followed by a failure to appear in court, and in June she was charged with shoplifting from Safeway after Nelund removed items from the store and then brought them back.
All five were misdemeanor charges, but Nelund now faces felon charges of Attempted Murder in the 1st degree, Attempted Assault in the 1st degree, and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 2nd degree after police were called to the shooting. Nelund allegedly aimed a handgun at an occupied vehicle.
No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
