Wagoner Not Pleased With Senate Oil Tax Bill

2/21/2012

State Senator Tom Wagoner returned to the Kenai Peninsula,  Saturday, to visit with constituents in a town hall meeting.  One issue addressed by several in the audience was the current oil tax proposal being considered by the State Senate.  Wagoner told the audience he is not pleased with the Senate bill, which is currently only a placeholder.

He said, if he had his way, the Senate Resources Committee would have a full bill.  Then, the committee would be addressing the facts in the bill, or in the Alaska tax structure, to see what needed to be fixed.

Wagoner told the audience the state might be better off doing nothing, this year, with the current tax structure.
