Vinyl Siding Coming to Kenai’s Vintage Pointe

9/3/2010

The Kenai City Council has approved an ordinance that will allow the city to spend over $250,000 for the installation of vinyl siding.  Administration said that the existing natural wood siding, while being aesthetically pleasing, requires significant maintenance over its life.  So the city would be replacing it with vinyl siding.  Kenai Councilmember Mike Boyle disagreed with the use of vinyl siding.

Administration preferred the vinyl siding over the natural wood because it is nearly maintenance free, significantly reducing future maintenance costs.

    1. Two opposed the ordinance. Ryan Marquis also voted no.

    2. Mike Boyle is a Council member, not an Assemblymember.
