A foot slip sent a green minivan through the front window of the I.D.E.A. building in the Red Diamond Center on K-Beach Road yesterday.
Megan Peters with the Alaska State Troopers.
Peters: “Yesterday morning a little after 8:30, a man was at the Red Diamond Center and he had intended to park his vehicle and get out and then he realized he didn’t put the vehicle in park, so when it started rolling forward he quickly jumped back in to attempt to stop the vehicle. Unfortunately he hit the wrong pedal and then the vehicle slammed in through the glass into one of the establishments at the Red Diamond Center.”
46-year-old James Bodolosky of Kenai was cited for failing to exercise due caution.
Peters: “Very fortunately there were no injuries in the incident. There was one woman inside the establishment, but she was not hit.”
Peters said he wasn’t impaired at the time of the accident.
