Utah Murder Suspect Arrested in Alaska

A man wanted on an arrest warrant in Utah for criminal homicide and aggravated murder was arrested in Haines.

The Alaska State Troopers say they assisted the Ogden Police Department in Utah with the apprehension of 40-year-old Stephen Ellenwood on Wednesday.

Ellenwood was wanted for the murder of a 92-yea-old woman 20 years ago.

Troopers say Ellenwood was taken into custody shortly after he fled from Troopers and tried to hide in the woods near his residence on Allen Road in Haines.
According to reports out of Utah, Grace Mae Odle died six days after she was sexually assaulted and beaten May 3, 1993, by a man who climbed through a window at her Ogden retirement home. Ellenwood was linked to the case by DNA evidence found in Odle’s room.
