The Alaska State Troopers and crews with Central Emergency Services are currently responding to a two-vehicle accident on K-Beach road and Merrywood Dr.
We got details from Captain Leslie Quelland with Central Emergency Services…
Capt. Quelland: “There was a full size pickup truck that was towing another vehicle, preliminary reports are that the pickup itself possibly rear ended low-boy trailer as the trailer was turning off the highway. There was one male patient that was injured, he is being treated and transported to the hospital, and the traffic is being detoured around Frontage road by Our Best Friends at this time.”
Quelland did tell us that initial reports indicated that the vehicle was on fire, CES crews responded and found the vehicle smoking, and were able to secure the vehicle very quickly.
Troopers are still on scene and the vehicle is currently in the middle of K-Beach road, and traffic is expected to be impacted for some time.
