Two Injured in Weekend Accidental Shooting in Soldotna

Saturday afternoon, just before 3:15pm, the Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on King Salmon Avenue in Soldotna following a report of an accidental shooting.

Trooper investigation revealed a 23-year-old male, had  negligently discharged a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol that struck both he and another 22-year-old male.  The 23-year-old was treated at the Central Peninsula Hospital for his injuries while the 22- year-old male was transported to Anchorage via Life Med for treatments for his injuries.

Troopers are continuing the investigation, and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the incident.
