Tuesday Afternoon Accident Details Released

Yesterday afternoon we reported a 36-year-old female was involved in an accident in the greater Soldotna area just after 4pm.

Troopers today confirmed that female Jacquelyn Campbell of Soldotna. Campbell was driving a 1994 Ford Explorer north on Gruber Road when she lost traction on a steep, icy section of the road. Her Explorer reportedly slid sideways and hit a dirt patch, which caused the vehicle to roll over and trapped Campbell inside.  The passenger, 50-year-old Allen Peterson of Soldotna, was able to free himself from the vehicle and called for help.

Campbell was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene due to the damage.  All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident and Troopers say alcohol was not a factor.
