He said the truck was a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado. He assumes it has reached the bottom of the lake. The Department of Environmental Conservation has been contacted, and, is requiring that the truck be removed from the lake. It isn’t known when that will be.
Hidden Lake is a very popular ice fishing location. But, those who go onto the lake, go at their own risk. The lake remains open to ice fishing. The location where the truck went down has been marked and warnings are posted identifying it as thin ice. Hidden Lake is away from the Kenai River. However, there are some small streams that do flow into it, causing the water underneath the ice in the middle of the lake to churn.
