Trouble Continuing for Incoming State GOP Leadership

An attempt to oust the incoming leaders of the Alaska Republican Party failed, only because the new chairman and vice-chair have yet to take office.

The state GOP executive committee yesterday ruled that Russ Millette of Anchorage and Debbie Brown of Kasilof cannot be removed from jobs they won’t begin until February 1st.

A complaint from party rules committee chair Frank McQueary accuses Millette of only recently joining the state republican party

Both Millette and Brown were among supporters of Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who caused a stir at the State GOP convention last year, and were swept into leadership roles.

Attorney Wayne Anthony Ross and former telecommunications executive Liz Vasquez argued against removal before the new leaders take office, leading the executive committee meeting to be postponed until February 1st.
