According to the State Troopers, subsequent investigation revealed that a 22-year-old female inmate and a 32-year-old female inmate started fighting over the use of a telephone.

Question ? Why would You need the State Troopers to respond to Wildwood ?
Where are the Corrections Officers ? The Corrections Officers have Arrest Authority don’t they ?
    Confused by this ? SPW

  • Mike says:

CO’s are not law enforcement officers. Any criminal charges stemming from this would have to be investigated by troopers and forwarded to the DA’s office. Wildwood is located in the Troopers enforcement area, not Kenai PD’s.

  • Jurisdiction says:

AST investigates all crimes reported in State correctional facilities, no geography involved. Troopers only involve themselves after the fact, the CO’s take care of the immediate problems.
