With increased Trooper enforcement on the roads this week, multiple DUIs and license infringements are being picked up. Megan Peters with the State Troopers said they’ll be out en force through the Labor Day weekend.

Peters: “We’re going to be making sure people are wearing their seat belts, we want to make sure that people are being good drivers, not impaired by anything, we don’t want them to be practicing unsafe driving behaviors, swerving, changing lanes in no-changing zones, unsafe passing, we’re going to be keeping an eye for those types of things. It’s the last couple weeks of summer, be safe on the roads, so you can get home safely and tell people about your adventure.”

Last weekend alone, the Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol’s Kenai Peninsula Unit charged six with DUI-related offenses. They include:

Brandy A. Taylor, 21 years of age of Ninilchik (driving while license revoked on original charge of DUI, driving without interlock)

Serena S. McCormick 19 years of age of Kenai (minor consuming alcohol)

Richard Elwood Kosbruk, age 52 of Anchorage (DUI, driving while license suspended, bail $1,000)

Aaron L. Hansen 23 years of age of Kodiak (driving while license revoked on original charge of DUI, driving without interlock)

Eric Lee White, age  46 of Anchorage (driving while license revoked on original charge of DUI, driving without interlock)

Royce L. Bird, 20 years of age of Soldotna (DUI, minor operating after consuming alcohol, MCA and misconduct involving weapons in the 4th degree, $1,000 bail)
