Troopers Perform Rescue Operation Near Hope

Friday August 9th, at about 11:50pm, the Soldotna Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from a juvenile male reporting that his mother, 44-year-old Keri Miles of Anchorage, had slipped while they were hiking on Gull Rock Trail in Hope and had broken her ankle.

They were approximately 5.5 miles in on the trail and were with a group of 7 people.  A State Trooper, Cooper Landing EMS and the rescue coordination center responded to the scene.

Ms. Miles was transported to Providence in Anchorage.
Troopers escorted the rest of the party to the trail head located in Porcupine Campground
