Troopers Believe Tuesday Night Fire in Sterling Was Arson

Last night, just before 6:45pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a trailer fire at a residence located at 28072 Caffyn Street in Sterling.

The troopers have confirmed that two structures were destroyed and CES was able to contain the damage to the property itself.

One individual, an unidentified 20-year-old man from Palmer, was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening burn injuries.

As a result of the Trooper and CES investigation, arson is suspected as the cause of the fire.

The Alaska State troopers are continuing their investigation into this case, and are asking that anyone with information about this crime to call the Alaska State Troopers at 262-4453 or Crimestoppers at 283-8477.
