Troopers Arrest Sterling Woman for Assault

Tuesday morning, just before 1:45am, Alaska State Troopers from Soldotna responded to a report of a female running down the Sterling Highway in Sterling.

Megan Peters with the Alaska State Troopers told us that subsequent investigation determined that prior to being found on the highway 38-year-old Deborah Rivera of Sterling, had assaulted a family member.

The unidentified family member was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital where they underwent surgery for injuries sustained in the assault.

Rivera was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on a charge of Assault in the 2nd degree; Troopers say that investigation into this case will continue.
