Troopers Arrest Soldotna Man for Felony Eluding

Thursday April 11th, just after 8:30pm, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee for a traffic violation just south of Soldotna at mile 102 of the Sterling Hwy.

Troopers later identified the driver of the vehicle as 31-year-old Sam Rice of Soldotna.

When Troopers approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver, Rice speed away in the vehicle.

Troopers pursued the vehicle southbound. The vehicle became stuck in the snow and the Rice left the area of the vehicle on foot.

Rice was apprehended shortly after leaving the stuck vehicle. Rice was arrested for Felony Eluding and DUI. Rice was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial with no bail.
