Troopers Arrest One for DUI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Last night, just after 8:00pm, the Alaska State Troopers stopped a blue 1994 Ford pickup near milepost 98 Sterling Highway in the City of Soldotna for speeding and driving erratically.

Troopers told us that 56-year-old Dennis Scott Poston of Kasilof was identified as the driver.  Subsequent investigation revealed he was driving the truck while impaired and under the influence of alcohol.

Troopers also say an 8-year-old child was in the truck with him.

Mr. Poston was arrested on the charges of DUI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 1st degree.

He later refused to provide a breath sample and was additionally charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.  .

Poston was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility; bail in this case was set at $1500.
