Quarterly reporting from political fundraisers has revealed Joe Miller ended last quarter with around $320,000 on hand, after raising around $18,000 in that period. Miller is planning to run against U.S. Senator Mark Begich next year. Begich reported has $2 million at his disposal. The sitting Senator said he raised $1 million last quarter.
Miller’s campaign organizers say they’ve received “overwhelming” support. They plan to begin more dedicated fundraising in the near future.
Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell has also indicated he’ll run for the U.S. Senate seat next year; he ended the quarter with $170,000. Treadwell’s fundraising only began in May; he announced his campaign intentions last month.
Breaking down Treadwell’s funds, $120,000 came from contributors and $50,000 from his own coffers.
