Although February is traditionally a slower month for local businesses, Johna Beech with the Kenai Chamber of Commerce said most tourists are using this time to book their summer vacations…

Beech: “The main thing that businesses can do now to gear up for the summer season is to make sure that their websites are up-to-date, with their contact information, that they’re ready to receive the phone calls of people that are planning their vacation. This is the time of year when people are actually planning and booking their trips, and so getting the word out, making sure their information is up-to-date, and they can also get in touch with us to make sure we have all of their correct information; just being proactive and getting that out there.”
