Two Students Arrested For Drugs at School

Two 13-year-old boys were arrested at Kenai Middle School last Tuesday, a little before 10am, for Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the fourth degree.

One of the boys was also arrested for Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the fifth degree.

Pegge Erkeneff with the school district said incidents like these are relatively rare…

Erkeneff: “When we look at drugs, which would include anything from under the influence to possession or distribution or sale, district-wide, we had 59 incidences. So, with nearly 9,000 students, we look at that as a low percentage, and the school district is really working diligently to identify and follow up on any suspected tips or when an administrator sees a student on campus.”
