A weather alert has been issued, as a change in pressure systems brings more wintry weather to southcentral Alaska.
The high pressure system which has been bringing warm air into southcentral Alaska is expected to break down this weekend, bringing a “dramatic” change in temperatures.
Starting tonight, temperatures will drop, bringing the coldest air of the season thus far. The NWS says coastal areas will see minimum temperatures in the single digits and teens, while areas further inland will hit negative numbers.
The cool pattern is expected to last throughout next week, with mostly clear skies and little precipitation.
