The Nikiski Fire Department says three students on a First Student Bus had to be transported to Central Peninsula General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, yesterday afternoon, because of the school bus going into the ditch on Island Lake Road across from Bell Avenue.  The Nikiski Fire Department and the Alaska State Troopers responded to the accident scene at 3:50 p.m. after the bus had slid into the ditch.  The Nikiski Fire Department said, due to the angle of the bus, rescue struts and straps were utilized to help stabilize the vehicle.  There were 27 students on the bus.
