Stranded Runners Lead To 1-0 Pilots Win Over Oilers

The Peninsula Oilers opened a nine-game in eight days road trip with a 1-0 loss to the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Sunday at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage.


The Oilers outhit the Pilots with seven hits; however, left 10 men on base including five in scoring position.  Starting pitcher AJ Quintero threw seven innings and allowed only three hits and one base-on-balls.  That one walk generate the Pilots only run of the game, when the leadoff man for the Pilots walked to open the seventh inning, was advanced on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single to left field.  Final score: Pilots 1, Oilers 0.


The Oilers travel to Chugiak to face the Chinooks on Monday night at 7:00 p.m.

The Oilers stand at 1-3 in ABL play.
