The National Weather Service has issued a storm warning for later this week affecting the Kenai Peninsula, Prince William Sound, Anchorage, and the Mat-Su.
Rain is expected from south to north starting Wednesday night and continuing through Friday with the storm will be developing south of Kodiak Island by Thursday Morning.
Most of the heavy rain will fall near the coastline of western Prince William Sound and the Eastern Kenai Peninsula however due to the storm drawing significant moisture from the subtropics, light rain is expected even in typically dry areas of the affected areas.
The storm will include strong winds for Prince William Sound, Whittier, Portage, and Eastern Turnagain for the latter half of the week and possibly the weekend.
The National Weather Service urges anyone recreating in any of the areas to pay attention to forecasts in order to avoid the storm.
