Stolen Homer Sign Was an Antique

Further details have come to light in the case of a road sign stolen from a residence on Rucksack Drive, just outside Homer. Beth Ipsen with Alaska State Troopers said the 4’x4′ sign belonged to an antiques collector…

Ipsen: “What the sign says on it is: 101 South, and there’s an arrow. So, it’s obvious it’s not a sign from up here. It was in the yard of a gentleman who collects things, like antiques, and it was stolen out of his yard. So it wasn’t actually mounted, it wasn’t a DOT sign, it’s something this gentleman collects.”

Troopers ask that anyone with information about the sign, which is valued at $300, contact them or leave an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 478 4258 or online at Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of felony suspects.
