State Troopers Respond to ATV/SUV Accident Near Homer

Yesterday afternoon just after 1:15pm, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Basargin Road in Voznesenka for a report of two juvenile males that had been riding a 4-wheeler and had collided with an SUV.

Trooper investigation determined the two males, who were both traveling on the same 4-wheeler, had been traveling southbound on Basargin Road at a high rate of speed as a red Ford Escape approached in the northbound lane.

The driver of the 4-wheeler attempted to slow down and lost control of the ATV and which slid into the front of the Ford Escape, causing both riders to be thrown from the 4-wheeler.

Both of the unidentified juvenile males were transported to South Peninsula Hospital in Homer for treatment of serious injuries sustained during the collision.

None the occupants in the Ford Escape were injured.

The investigation continues.
