The State of Alaska has been suing the EPA over what the EPA dubs it’s “most ambitious strategy to reduce emission from diesel-powered vehicles.”
The concern for Alaska is how this would impact cruise ships.
The State said the EPA has over-stepped its boundaries in requiring cruise ships to transfer to low-sulfur fuels.
Ron Peck, President and CEO of the Alaska Travel Industry Association said that move could cripple an industry which is still in rebound.
Peck applauded the Governor for bringing this lawsuit and said he hoped for a speedy resolution.
