Skiers representing high schools from throughout Alaska are competing in Anchorage at the Kincaid Park ski facility in the 2012 ASAA Nordic Skiing Championships. Three days of competition will include freestyle, classic and mixed technique relays.

Girls 5k Interval Start Freestlye Technique Race
Soldotna High’s Bree Mucha was the fastest peninsula skier in the first competition at the state championships.
Mucha finished 19th overall in the 5-K freestyle, with teammate Sadie Fox in 35th; Skyview’s Mika Morton, 50th; Kenai’s Taylor Ostrander, 53rd and Olivia Pfeifer, 54th.
Boys 7.5K Interval Start Freestlye Technique Race
On the boys side, Jonas Wikstrom placed 15th overall in the 7.5-K freestyle, with teammates Dillion Jensen, 22nd and Luke Michael, 27th. Kenai’s Travis Cooper finished in the top thirty with a 28th place; and Skyview’s Kade Cooper, 76th.
