Now that Senator Lisa Murkowski is finally certified as the state’s senator and the highly contested senate race over. State House Speaker Mike Chenault says that what happened with this race doesn’t weaken the primary process for elections…

Speaker Chenault did say that the write-in process for elections give citizens every option to vote for the candidate they want to represent them.
According to the AP, aone Alaska lawmaker says the state Legislature should look at election law changes following the contentious U.S. Senate race.
State Sen. Bill Wielechowski of Anchorage says that his staff is looking at how other states deal with write-in ballots. The validity of the write-ins ballots were at the heart of the legal battle over the election. In which Lisa Murkowski will be certified today.
