The Nikiski Fire Department continues to upgrade its fire trucks. Chief James Baisden says the state is helping with the purchase of a new ladder truck.
He said the department has needed to replace its current one.
Two new 4000 gallon tankers were just purchased for the department, too. They are already in service. Baisden said, along with the older ladder truck, the older tankers had also outlived themselves. All of the older trucks were purchased in the same time-frame during the 1980’s. Baisden told us that the fire service area will see faster water delivery with these new trucks.
