State Flags Ordered to Half Staff Through the Weekend

As we reported earlier this week, Governor Sean Parnell ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the Alaska State Trooper and trooper pilot who were lost in the crash of Helo-1.

States flags will be lowered beginning this morning, and State flags will remain at half-staff until Sunday at sunset.

Mel Nading, a veteran trooper pilot, and State Trooper Tage Toll were killed when their helicopter went down near Talkeetna.

Memorial services for Nading and Toll will be held Saturday and Sunday respectively.
