State Flags Lowered in Honor of VPSO Killed in Manokotak

Governor Sean Parnell has ordered state flags to be lowered today in honor and memory of Village Public Safety Officer Thomas O. Madole, who was killed in the line of duty Tuesday in Manokotak.


Parnell said that Sandy and he are saddened to learn of the tragic, senseless death of Officer Madole, noting that Madole will be remembered for his dedication and devotion to public service and the protection of others. We will keep his family, friends and fellow officers in our thoughts and prayers.


The Governor added that VPSOs are a vital part of protecting and providing safety to our rural communities.


Madole is survived by his wife and two adult children.

State flags will be lowered on throughout today, and are to return for full staff tomorrow morning.
