Dominating performances were turned in by the reigning past champions at the 2014 Tsalteshi Invitational Cross Country Meet on Saturday on the Tsalteshi Trails, with Kenai’s Allie Ostrander and Kodiak’s Levi Thomet claiming the individual titles.
Girls Varsity 5K Race
Allie Ostrander recorded her fourth-straight Tsalteshi (Skyview) Inviational championship completing the course in 16 minutes and 44.3 seconds.
The field of 108 varsity girls included teams from throughout Alaska. Ostrander lead the way throughout followed by Glennallen’s Briahna Gerlach, 2013 1-2-3A State Champion. The Colony girls won the team title, followed by West, Homer, Soldotna and Kenai.
Top 15 finishes for peninsula runners include: 1st place, Allie Ostrander, KCHS; 5th Olivia Hutchings, SoHi; 6th Megan Pitzman, Homer.
Boys Varsity 5K Race
Kodiak’s Levi Thomet repeats ( for a third year) as champion for the boys event. The West boys raced to the team title followed by Kodiak and South.
Top 15 peninsula runners for the boys race include: 3rd Jonah Theisen, KCHS; 5th Jordan Theisen, KCHS; 13th Travis Cooper, KCHS.
