State Champions Crowned At 1-2-3A State Wrestling

The Skyview Panthers and Nikiski Bulldogs represented the central peninsula at the 1-2-3A ASAA State Wrestling Championship, earning three individual titles and a 4th place team finish for the Panthers.


Skyview’s Seth Hutchison won his second, straight 1-2-3A state title battling to a championship in the 113-pound division.  Seth recorded a 3-0 victory in the championship match.  Seth was the 98-pound champion in 2012.

Skyview’s Austin Craig, wrestling at 106 pounds, captured a gold medal with a 5-0 victory in his title bout.

The Skyview Panthers, under Kachemak Conference Coach of the Year Neldon Gardner, finished fourth in the team scoring.  Bethel topped Kotzebue for the team title.

For the Nikiski Bulldogs, Luke Johnson wins the Bulldogs lone state title; dominating the 195-pound weight class.  Luke recorded a pin in just :46 seconds in his championship match.
