Spencer Dale Named New BP Group Chief Economist

BP announced their new Group Chief Economist will be Spencer Dale effective from the end of October.

 

Currently Dale is the Executive Director for Financial Stability Strategy and Risk for the Bank of England and is a member of the Bank’s Financial Policy Committee.

 

His past roles include the Bank’s Chief Economist where Dale served for six years on the Monetary Policy Committee and was also a private secretary to former Governor Mervyn King.

 

Dale commented on the announcement saying, “I am delighted that I will be working in a critical sector for the global economy in one of Britain’s leading companies. I look forward to bringing my experience of macroeconomics and the public sector to the world of international energy.”
