SPD Officers Arrest Man After Fleeing from Traffic Stop

Posted: March 29, 2013 at 7:31 am

Tuesday Morning, just before 3:00am, Soldotna police officers attempted to stop a vehicle on K-Beach Road near Arena Drive. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for the officer and fled westbound on K-Beach Road, turning onto Endicott Drive, where the vehicle was found unoccupied a short time later.

Sgt. Duane Kant with SPD told us that responding officers followed tracks in the snow down to the Kenai River and located55-year-old William J. Davidson of Nikiski hiding inside a small shed.

Davidson was arrested for failing to stop at the direction of a police officer, driving while license revoked, avoiding an ignition interlock device, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass in the second degree and a probation violation, he was taken to Wildwood and held without bail.

Another fine outstanding citizen out on probation doing the same old stuff he was doing to go to jail the first time. I wonder how many times he has violated his probation and the court has gave him another chance? We may as well not even have police and troopers on the peninsula the way the Kenai court just keeps kicking these people back out onto the streets
