South Peninsula Gas On Schedule and On Budget

Work is continuing with the Southern Kenai Peninsula Gas project. We spoke to Homer City Manager Walt Wrede who said that as of last week, the “trunk” line from Anchor Point was two-thirds completed…

Wrede: “So that puts them right on schedule and within their budget parameters, so we’re real happy about that. Then a company called UTI, United Technologies Inc. is doing the distribution system in town, by the end of this month, they’re going to have all of downtown between East Hill Road to West Hill Road, uphill from Pioneer Avenue completed. They expect to have the High School and [South Peninsula] Hospital hooked up with gas by August 1st.

Governor Parnell, as a part of his Family Picnic being held in Homer this Thursday, will participate in a ceremony marking gas making it to South Peninsula Hospital.
