Soldotna Set to Sparkle

The streets of Soldotna are set to sparkle, according to Soldotna Chamber of Commerce’s Michelle Glaves…

Glaves: “We have the ice sculptures, I believe they all are sold and I believe we sold more than we did last year. And Rotary will be cutting the ice this Saturday on the the 11th.”

Glaves said the increased number of sculptures meant they needed to call for reinforcements…

Glaves: “The ice carvers will all come in, most of them are the local guys that do the chainsaw carving, and so they’ll be doing ice and we have a group coming up from Homer and we’ll have I think 4 or 5 being worked on at a time and trying to get them all done in 2 weeks, plus the big ice slide over at the Sports Center for Peninsula Winter Games, which is January 25th.”
